The word recommend is a term that we use regularly in our language, either to warn, to advise on any issue or about someone, or failing that when we speak in favor of an individual with another person, that is, when we praise or highlight some of its characteristics. I do not recommend that you talk to Juan about these issues since he is very Catholic and he will not like your point of view. Laura entered the company recommended by her sister that she knows the head of human Resources.
So when it comes to giving advice on actions to follow in certain situations or when it is necessary to provide warnings regarding a situation or an individual, which for example can cover some danger for our lives, we tend to use the term recommend almost obligatory. Because although as we will see later it is a word that has a large number of synonyms, it turns out to be the most used at the time of the mentioned uses.
On the other hand, in the ambit labor, professional, more precisely as regards the
resources humans, the word recommend has a common use because it is a practice usual that when someone is looking for a job ask someone friend, relative, who recommends it to the company you work for or to someone they know and it turns out to be a viable alternative in their search. However, it is also common for the situation to be reversed and that when a position becomes vacant in a company, employees are asked if they know someone from confidence that meets the requirements to occupy it and in this way I would be recommending it.It should be noted that the word recommend presents a great variety of synonyms, although, among the ones we use the most are warn and advise , which we indicate lines above. Meanwhile, the word that directly opposes recommending is that of criticize which implies the action of censor someone or something.
