The concept of record It is widely used in our language. We mostly use it when we want to indicate or refer to that quota or maximum mark, superlative by the way, in some action or activity. That is to say, the level or the result achieved in some activity, knew how to exceed, to a large extent, any other that was obtained previously in the same action.
For example, it is a term that is usually used in various contexts and situations, although, undoubtedly in the sports field of competence it is where it is most used. In the Olympic Games, for example, always turns out to be a attraction apart from the competition, see if an athlete or sportsman can break the previous record and clearly rise with a new one.
Continuing with the impact of the term on the sport of competition we must indicate that we can find many records, some that belong to a category, to a competition, others that correspond to a local level or records that transcend the borders of a territory
and they become world records. The world record is a level reached that breaks with all those achieved previously. Now leaving the strictly sporting records and as we said above, in any activity, even the most unusual, records can be found. So we find the tallest man in the world, the longest flag, the biggest cake, the biggest Easter egg and vice versa when the measurement is the smallest known.
There is a publication world-renowned, that of the book Guinness records, which for many decades has been in charge of collecting world records in all kinds of activities and publishes them in an annual edition that is widely read.
And there is a very popular phrase that contains this word, in record time, and that we just use when we want to refer that something was done in a certainly fast time. Marcos and Laura had a child in record time.
