At the behest of the geography, the estuary, is a geomorphological accident that we could define as the penetration generated by the sea itself at the mouth of some rivers. It should be noted that the estuary is one of the various forms that the mouth of a river can assume. River in those cases in which a Valley coastal appears submerged in the sea as a result of an ascent in its level. Put in other words, the estuary is like an arm of the sea, which is enclosed in the coast and as such it will be affected by the action of the tides.
Although the term estuary is the most widespread around the world, in Mexico, a substitute name for estuary usually appears: estuaries. But even if the name changes, they will be talking about them.
In the Spanish geography the estuary is a very present accident in different regions, for example, in Galicia, are the Rías Bajas and Rías Altas, also in Asturias, at the request of the River Navia; Huelva, Cantabria and the Country Basque
