Romania is a European country that is located to the east of the continent, sharing its geographical limits with Hungary, Serbia, Ukraine, Moldova and Bulgaria. The capital of Romania is the fabulous city of Bucharest and the official language of this country is Romanian, a language Indo-European. Romania has an area of more than 238 thousand square kilometers, while its population it is close to 22 million. Today, Romania has a system of government republican and democratic in which we find the figure of the president and the prime minister.
As with all the countries of Eastern Europe, the history of Romania is a very rich and complex history that includes the successive presence of numerous tribes as well as numerous forms of government and political systems that have been changing over time from the first written records found of this area (around 400 BC) to the present. During the Middle Ages, the reigns of Wallachia, Moldavia and Transylvania were those that dominated the region, but this domain would change as the years and centuries passed. Another of Romania's important times was when the region became part of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics or U.S.S.R.
The territory Romania is today divided into 41 districts or administrative regions in addition to the capital city which is independent. Salaj, Calarasi, Bihor, Timis, Harghita, Cluj, Ialomita, Covasna and Buzau are just some of them. The geography Romania is characterized by the significant presence of the basin Lower Danube River that serves as the natural boundary between Romania, Serbia and Bulgaria. In addition, the Carpathian mountain range stretches through the center of the country, making it one of the most beautiful and impressive tourist attractions in the region. By having a very small outlet to the Black Sea in comparison With the total extension of its territory, Romania has a weather continental in which temperatures are normally temperate.
