The word differential is used to designate a part of the car that serves to balance the movement and the displacement of the different wheels that are part of the mechanism in order to allow safer and easier maneuvers. The differential is a system that is composed of several gears, it is not a single element in itself as it can be the motor or the gearbox. The differential is located at the front of the car and it works as soon as it is exercised force on those gears, making them generate movement and thus allowing the correct movement of the wheels.
The differential is a system that is built so that the car (understood as all kinds of vehicle) can correctly exercise the rotational movement of its wheels and does not suffer from imbalances or mismatches. In this sense, it is important to note that when the wheels that make up a vehicle rotate (for example in corners) always do it at different speeds, those in front and those behind, because they are in different
blueprints regarding the return to be carried out. This facility is provided by the differential that allows each of the wheels to adjustment and perform a rotary movement appropriate to the plane of the space in which it is located. The differential can be considered one of the most important inventions when it comes to the stability of the automobile since prior to its existence those vehicles that had two or more wheels always presented some level of destabilization when turning in curves. This was the case as all the wheels could not be accommodated at the same movement and some remained still while others continued in motion. Finally, with the use of the differential, the movements generated by the gears allow the four wheels to accommodate and act balanced in any turning situation.
