Obvious and essential principle of a science, a religion, a doctrine, a system
Dogma is called the evident and essential principle of a science, a religion, a doctrine, a system, among others, that is, the dogmas are those elementary principles and basic foundations that contain all the knowledge and knowledge that the just mentioned they flaunt.
Irrefutable affirmations that do not admit a reply
They are considered irrefutable assertions to which there is no room for replies, contradictions and objections.
Dogma of faith: truth that God has opportunely revealed
In the case of religion, for example, more precisely of the Catholic religion, a dogma of faith, as it is formally called, is that truth that God has opportunely revealed and that as such, because it comes from him, is that the institution ecclesiastical declares it as a certain and undoubted truth, which every Catholic must respect and assume as true. This dogma that came from God himself passed through the apostolic tradition that was responsible for its dissemination later and finally the Catholic Church formalizes it from its announcement to the faithful.
The dogmas were proposed by Jesus and then the apostles and church gave absolute faith of them and they became fundamental and unquestionable bases of the ideology and the Catholic proposal.
Proposed by competent authorities
Meanwhile, dogma will always be proposed and supported by a authority competent, such as the Church, for example, as we commented in the previous paragraph, since being the highest authority on earth through which it is expressed God, holds that place of authority and it corresponds to him, then, to sustain in time all the dogmas that have been proposed by God and even more to follow spreading them.
Never, ever, a dogma may be subjected to any test, to verification or simply doubted, as we have pointed out, it is accepted without any kind of question or objection.
These days, the term dogma is more than anything linked and associated with this use that is given at the behest of religion.
One of the most important dogmas held by the Church and therefore, the Christian religion, is that which proposes the belief in a single God, who manifests itself in three different persons, that is, in God the father creator of all things that are present in the universe, son, incarnate in Christ, who had the mission of saving humanity from original sin through his crucifixion, death and resurrection, and in the mystery of the spirit holy.
Although it is also worth noting that almost all religions have their own dogmas, not only Christianity, as well as Judaism, the Islamism, among others, hold dogmas or principles that are the maximum truths of the religion in question and on which the beliefs.
Cinema: Dogma 95, anti-Hollywood movement
On the other hand, the concept of dogma knew how to land on the language of movie theater to name an individual movement film of Vanguard that back in the mid-nineties were proposed by directors of Danish origin, Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg.
His proposal basically consisted of a reaction against the Hollywood mega industry in which super productions, special effects and the exacerbated use of technology are privileged. Against all this the Danish actors went out to “fight” through their Dogma 95.
The accent on what dramatic, a real cinema without decorations and made in real settings, shot camera in hand, without effects or sound and lighting mixes, without optical effects or the use of filters, that the story and the action have a deep content and not ephemeral or superficial, not allow genre films and that the director does not appear in the credits of the film, are some of the main proposals of this movement.
In his appearance he knew how to cause sensation and a shock, due to the avant-garde and uniqueness of his message, however, he did not know how to stay in time due to the impossibility of fulfilling some of his maxims.
The Celebration is the first film to emerge from Dogma 95 and as such it was a great revelation and success. It narrates the difficult relationships around a family. It has a dramatic and sentimental charge as powerful as it was proposed from the foundations of Dogma 95.
