In the field of geography, a dune is a accumulation of sand caused by the action of the wind, similar to a hill, Y scenery typical of desert and beach areas.
It should be noted that when the wind presents a dominant direction, the dune will adopt a c-shape, advancing it due to the action of the wind that forms it. Now the velocity of mobilization of a dune is inversely proportional to the size it presents, which is why the largest dunes girls manage to reach the bigger ones with whom they are bonding and obviously increasing their size original.
When a dune reaches a size of between 4 and 6 meters it is common for material to begin to detach from it at its two ends, which will give way to the appearance of other smaller dunes.
In many situations the action of the dune will cause problems such as: the invasion of populated areas and lands with crops and the obstruction of roads. To prevent these scenarios you can implement some actions such as: planting plants that demand little
Water to live, including hemp, decrease in atmospheric humidity, spraying with binder material, petroleum or oil, in the convex part of the dune. The tallest dunes in the world are located in Argentina and Peru. Argentina's is known as dune Federico Kirbus, is in the Baggins of Fiambalá, in the Province of Catamarca and it is 1230 meters high and is very visited by those individuals who practice the sandboarding, a sport which consists of the descent from the top of a dune or a sand hill aboard special boards and similar to those used to practice snowboarding in the snow. Meanwhile, the one in Peru is called Duna Grande or Cerro Marcha and is located in the Nazca Province.
But not only in the desert or on the beaches it is possible that we come across this accumulated sand but rather in space and more precisely on other planets like mars it is possible to find dunes as well.
