The acronym on English UFO correspond to Unidentified Flying Object, which translates as Unidentified Flying Object, better known by its acronym UFO. The UFO concept is related to one of the mysteries of the universe and that could be synthesized with a question: are we the only intelligent beings that inhabit the universe?
The UFO phenomenon
Ask ourselves if humans are the only one speciessmart in the vastness of the universe it is almost inevitable. This question has various implications. If there are other beings, we do not know what they want or what they really are. If they do not exist, all the theories and supposed visions of objects flying are big lies or fantasies. Regardless of the arguments for or against aliens and flying objects, it is indisputable that there is knowledge that attempts to explain the UFO phenomenon, ufology.
Some considerations about ufology
It is practically indisputable that there are strange phenomena around us and that science
conventional does not have a definitive explanation about them. We are talking about supposed sightings of ships with a technology non-human, atypical atmospheric phenomena and all kinds of curiosities that make think on the possibility of an extraterrestrial life.Interest in UFOs began after World War II. In that period two circumstances occurred: aeronautics took a spectacular leap and, on the other hand, stories about the presence of ships appeared space and aliens on our planet (one of the best known is the one that took place in the town of Roswell, which was finally shown to be a montage).
Ufology as knowledge is not comparable to other sciences. In fact, there are scientists who consider it a pseudoscience based on elements incompatible with the parameters of science.
Although the mainstream scientific community denies the validity of ufology, it is not reasonable to absolutely deny its possible truth. We must not forget a reality: that science has evolved throughout history and what in its day was denied by the majority was later shown to be true.
There are many examples in this sense, but perhaps the best known is the one related to the location of the Earth in the universe (until the seventeenth century it was believed in the geocentrism and from Copernicus and Galileo an opposite vision began, heliocentrism). Something similar could happen with the UFO phenomenon, that is, current science denies it but in the future we could we will be able to have conclusive evidence on whether or not UFOs exist and, therefore, life beyond our planet.
