The idea of salvation has a general meaning, as well as a series of different nuances depending on the contexts in which it appears.
The salvation is the release of something, whether of an evil, a situation of captivity or a danger. A person is saved when he leaves a state of suffering or discomfort.
Circumstances in which this concept is used
In the face of danger, someone achieves salvation by freeing himself from threat or risk (we were miraculously saved from that accident). The idea of danger is associated with the risk to physical integrity, but it is not always used in this sense. Let us think of a football team that plays a decisive match on the last day to maintain its category (If he succeeds, it can be said that he has achieved salvation).
The word salvation is used figuratively to express an intense feeling (she is my salvation or the expression "lifesaver", which indicates psychological support or emotional someone or something).
As is logical, when a person leaves a captive situation (in a kidnapping or a stay in prison) it is said that he has achieved salvation.
Soul salvation
From the perspective of most religions the human soul is immortal and physical death does not prevent it from we can achieve eternal life, as long as we fulfill the plan of salvation that God has conceived for U.S. This idea is uniquely defended by Christianity (in its Catholic or Protestant version). In a very synthetic way we could say that God's plan of salvation consists of having faith in Jesus Christ and complying with the precepts indicated in the Bible.
Thus, our way of living will be judged in the final judgment and based on this we will conquer the salvation of the soul. It must be borne in mind that salvation is possible but also the opposite, condemnation.
Definition in the foundations of Buddhism
Buddhism is a religion without God, but it does contemplate the idea of salvation. A person is not saved because he does good or has faith but because he detaches himself from the selfish desires that oppress him, it is In other words, he frees himself from them and thus reaches his salvation, which has a meaning linked to earthly life and not to the hereafter.
Some philosophical approaches conceive salvation from an earthly vision and at the same time margin of the idea of soul or of the concept of faith. The Marxism is the philosophical doctrine and politics that aspires to the full liberation and salvation of man and for this it is necessary to overcome everything that oppresses him (the revolution it would be the process to conquer the new liberating order).
