The person who is in charge of making garments of clothing tailored and chosen by your clients. The job Tailor is very old, usually performed by men, women being known as seamstresses or dressmakers. The tailor was one of the figures most important of the different royalty since the kings, queens and other people of the royal cortege did not wear common garments but always wore custom made garments.
As with many other manual and artisan officers, the tailor's trade went into clear and progressive decline with the development of the Industrial Revolution, a phenomenon that allowed the appearance of production mass of textiles and clothing. Thus, the different populations could have access to clothes and clothing made according to certain basic patterns of sizes, measures and shapes without requiring then that a tailor was in charge of making the garments as needed.
However, today tailors still exist, without doubt as a luxury that a few can afford due to the high level of their services. Tailors are especially used by people who need specific types of clothing for special occasions, as well as by people who want to make a whole new
collection of clothes to his measure and that they do not want to own common clothes. Tailors also repair and fix clothes that do not fit perfectly because they are new or inherited from other people. Today's tailors develop their activity by way of Handbook but with many technological implements that allow them to obtain more complete and better results.
