In the legislation criminal in most countries there is the so-called crime of sedition. It consists of the act of rebellion by which a group of individuals disobey the established legal framework. In other words, it is a crime against the power of the state and the constitutional order. In this sense, two very similar crimes are postulated, that of rebellion and that of sedition.
The crime of sedition
It basically consists of an act of insubordination by a group. Most jurists consider that this crime occurs against some power of the state and not against the entire state. For this reason, sedition is considered a minor rebellion.
As a general guideline, sedition is carried out with a violent action with the purpose that some power or institution the state does not perform its ordinary functions. 1) there is an armed uprising or uprising by a group and
2) there is an act of disobedience against the authority of the state.
