Located in the south of Spain, the impressive city of Seville is undoubtedly the center cultural of the Iberian country, counting on an incredible historical wealth. It is capital of the Province from Seville and today has a population more than seven hundred thousand inhabitants in an area of 140 square kilometers.
Seville has a weather Mediterranean, which causes temperatures to be around 30 degrees Celsius in summer and close to 14 in winter. This city is crossed by the fabulous Guadalquivir river and the terrain is flat, so there are no areas with too much height.
The city of Seville has a rich history that can go back two thousand years, having been created by different Iberian tribes before being known to the Romans as Hispalis. This city has been dominated throughout its history by numerous civilizations and in this sense the influence that the Moors and Arabs left on it is very important. Seville would only be incorporated into the kingdom of Castilla y León in the 13th century and later became one of the pillars of the Spanish Empire with the conquest of
America. One of the most important moments in its history was, precisely, the Reconquest carried out by the Catholic Monarchs in the face of the Muslim presence that, in any case, left its mark on it.While some of the monuments and historical sites of the city have an Arab character, others maintain a Gothic style characteristic of the Middle Ages and many others are modern constructions that contrast in great way with the previous ones. Among the most impressive we must mention the Cathedral of Seville, the Alcázar (with gardens of different styles and built in 1181), the University of Seville, the Murillo Gardens and numerous museums.
Seville is especially known for its fantastic cultural heritage in which flamenco is undoubtedly of great importance. This style of dance that represents much more than that is known in the world for its beauty, its forms, its music and everything that is established around a flamenco festival.
