Example of Subjunctive Mood
Spanish Classes / / July 04, 2021
The subjunctive mood is a verbal mode in which it is indicated that the statement is virtual information, that is, information that is not actually carried out: they are actions that have not been performed, experienced or cannot be verified.
For example:
- "Hopefully you win the contest ”: the verb you win is conjugated in the subjunctive mood: the action of to win has not been carried out.
- "It is possible that we let them know later ”: the verb let them know is in the subjunctive: indicates that the action cannot be verified or has not been experienced.
In the subjunctive mood, for this reason, subjective ideas are often expressed, such as wishes, wishes, doubts, assumptions, possibilities, requests, expectations, etc. That is, actions that have not been carried out or cannot be insured.
The subjunctive mood, then, informs us about a specific intention of the issuer. On the other hand, there are also the indicative mood Y imperative mode that express other intentions (express something as real information and indicate an order or command).
