Perhaps famous for being one of the few known countries in Africa, South Africa is today a region of great dynamism and vigor. This country is located precisely at the southernmost end of the continent and while a part of its border is shared with the countries of Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Swaziland, another important part is a long coastline washed by the Atlantic oceans and Indian. In addition, one of the peculiarities of South Africa is that it contains within its territory a completely independent country, Lesotho, which is surrounded by South African territory.
While the largest, densely populated and well-known city in all of South Africa is the city of Johannesburg, the country has three Official capital cities where the executive (Pretoria), judicial (Bloemfontein) and legislative (Ciudad del Cape). The country is organized into nine major provinces such as Eastern Cape, Free State, Northern Cape, Western Cape, Limpopo, Gauteng, Mpumalanga, North West, and KwaZulu-Natal. Each of these regions has a
identity quite definite. Besides, the geography and the flora and fauna of this country are undoubtedly unique in the world and easily recognizable with animals wild like white rhinos, leopards, lions, impalas, hyenas, hippos, giraffes and many others. The history of South Africa can be described as sad and happy at the same time. While this region of the planet enters the history books only after its discovery by Portuguese navigators in the fourteenth century, from there to the present day the territory would be nothing more than a test laboratory for different European nations to do the population and of the different ethnic groups that lived there, painful victims of their abuse and lack of moral. South Africa today has a significant black population but white sectors and traditions, mainly descendants of the Dutch and English, are also important. This makes the country a favorable place for numerous racial confrontations. However, we can say that from the work of a man like Nelson Mandela, this country was able to reach the peacecivil and social, making the passes with its history, its present and its future.
