The relative sentences they are a type of subordinate sentences that give information about the noun they are modifying. They fulfill a function of adjectival sentences, that is, of sentences that function as adjectives.
Types of relative sentences:
Relative sentences can be of two types: explanatory and specific.
1. Explanatory relative sentences:
The explanatory relative sentences they give information about the subject, but that is not essential to understand the sentence. These sentences are enclosed in commas:
