The term ghost is used to designate those fantastic or unreal beings that are part of superstition and that are normally represented as characters dressed in white. Ghosts are often seen as souls, spirits of people who could have lived and who return to do evil and annoy those who still live in this world. They are, clearly, one of the most interesting characters for the human being along with other unreal beings that come from beyond.
The belief in the existence of ghosts is something that has been present since time immemorial, since man developed the ability to thoughtabstract and magical in beings out of this world. Compared to other fantastic beings like elves, goblins, fairies, and exotic animals, ghosts are always presented as malevolent characters who return to this world to try to contact the living and scare them or Call his attention. The ghosts are always represented with white clothes or sheets, although they can also appear dressed in clothes from long past times to show that they lived in a very distant time.
Each civilization or culture developed its particular myths and beliefs in beings as ghosts. Thus, the Day of the Dead or Halloween is one of the best known and most popular: it celebrates the arrival of the dead to the world of the living, the only moment of Contact between both parties. It is believed that it is on this night that the dead return specifically to do evil. In addition, each culture and society has also developed its particular way of contacting the dead or ghosts, usually through dark rites that involve black magic or pagan acts. Not everyone can communicate with ghosts if it is not necessary, or so it is believed, to have knowledge and sensitivity special to perform such homework.
