The term 'feedback' comes from the English language and could be literally translated into Spanish as 'feedback'. It is generally used to name the response, the communicative back and forth that occurs naturally in the communicational process.
Feedback or response, at the behest of the communication process
As with many words of English origin, the concept of feedback is used like this, without mediating translations, in the vast majority of Spanish-speaking countries, to refer to the process that we mentioned.
Feedback or feedback is the process by which a exchange of data, information, hypothesis or theories between two different points. This term can thus be applied both to social situations as well as to scientific situations, both biological and technological.
Because feedback is none other than the response instance in the process of communication and is characterized by the reversal of roles in a constant way between transmitter-receiver.
The sender through her message will move the receiver so that he can make a response in relation to the message that has been received.
As a consequence of this back and forth that the feedback proposes, it has become a strategy very common in institutional communication and marketing, areas in which it is very important to know the response of the client or the opinion of the public about a certain product.
Today, it is very common that after contacting a company that provides a service, to complain about it or to obtain more information about it, a representative of the same contact us to find out if the problem has been solved in a satisfactory way and if we are comfortable with the attention received.
This feedback allows the company to know the opinion of its customers and have improvements in those cases that are demanded.
Feedback can then be understood as the result of the connection between both parties. intervening parties, connection that includes and supposes the transfer of data, information or other type of elements. Feedback is also a process that can occur continuously between the party that sends the data and the party that receives it, positions that can be exchanged during the process over and over again.
Examples of feedback can be everyday or specific to certain spaces. Thus, it could be said that there is feedback between two people who mutually communicate observed and obtained data in particular situations, for example, scientists. The data that is shared in the feedback process will allow both parties to feed themselves or feed each other and produce better results.
Return
On the other hand, the concept is often used in some specific situations as a synonym for return.
In competitions or exams, in which the abilities of students are evaluated with respect to a practice or To know, the group of teachers or the teacher who evaluates will give feedback to the student after their performance or presentation in which he will explain, among other things, how he appreciated his performance.
When the feedback received is not good, that is, when the feedback that the examiner gives us maintains that they did not like it our presentation and argues it, we can know for sure that it did not like and thus be able to improve it for the new performance.
In other words, the feedback in these cases is good because it allows us to know where we have made a mistake and if possible we can improve it in the new opportunity that is given to us.
Your presence in the technology we use
Feedback is also present in numerous technological spaces. In this sense, a large part of the devices and machines that we use in our daily lives work at through the feedback system since they involve the permanent exchange and transfer of data (of any kind). A clear example of this situation is the connection to Internet that, in addition to having a virtual space, needs technical and physical support through which data of various kinds are permanently sent and received. This connection, in this particular case, can be made through cables of optical fiber who are responsible for carrying and bringing the necessary information.
