We understand feminism as that system of ideas and thoughts that seek to revalue the place and power of women (or of the gender feminine) in the traditionally patriarchal and male-dominated society. Feminism is a fairly current phenomenon since it is only present since the 19th century and especially in the 20th century in different parts of the world. Feminism has made many advances for women over time, although there are still many unresolved issues and problems due to the complexity of current human societies.
Feminism is a phenomenon that emerged in the mid-nineteenth century along with the emergence of other social movements related to the search for labor and social rights. Feminism finds particular antecedents prior to this time, but nevertheless it is not until the end of the 19th century and the entire 20th century that the achievements of this movement they are really notorious.
Feminism is characterized by seeking and I respect of women's rights, rights that have never existed for them or that have been lost due to religious, political or cultural reasons. Thus, one of the first struggles of the feminist movement was the achievement of the female vote in societies in which the
participationpolitics it was beginning to open up but only to men. In many other cases, the claims of feminism went further, seeking to establish the equality between men and women in spaces such as the workplace or the professional. While the changes in these areas are the most notable, perhaps there is still much to achieve.Feminism today is interested in basically achieving the protection of women and girls who suffer different types of abuse and domination by men of the societies to which they belong. This is particularly important in societies in which traditional structures prevail over modern ones, as well as in Societies in which white slave trafficking, prostitution, organized crime, mafias and misery are continually present.
