The flowers are the structures in charge of reproduction in some vegetables. In these plant formations, the fruits that contain the seeds are produced through sexual reproduction. There is a great variety of flowers taking into account sizes, shapes and colors, but in general they are carriers of the same purpose reproductive and use the same elements.
It can be said that flowers are a kind of modified branch. Considering the parts from the base of a flower to its extreme we find the following parts: sepals, which initially surround the leaves while they are developing, when they only form a cocoon; the petals, which form the corolla and which generally constitute leaves with attractive colors for agents capable of carrying out pollination; the stamens, which as a whole make up the androecium and are carried by the male organs resident in the anthers; and finally, the carpels, which contain the female organs from which the seeds will form once fertilization takes place.
Usually the flowers grow in an organized group called an inflorescence, although of course it is possible to find solitary flowers or in pairs. It may also be the case that the flowers grow so close together that they give the impression of being a single flower, which is called psudanto; an example of this circumstance It is offered by daisies, which consist of a series of flowers growing together.
Pollination is usually carried out by Water, wind, animals and insects. Each type of flower usually specializes in one of these agents. This situation is intended to efficiency Y constancy in pollination.
Finally, it should be remembered that flowers have always had a decorative function in the various cultures of man. It should come as no surprise that traits eye-catching that they developed to fulfill their reproductive function have been considered beautiful even by man.
