The firmament is understood to be the celestial vault that covers the planet Earth and that has that color only within it, since when it goes out into outer space it loses the tone light blue and turns black. The firmament is the space where all the stars are found, from the stars, to the planets and shooting stars. Observed from Earth, it is the place where the stars land, forming the different constellations known as characters mythical. The name of firmament comes from the idea that was had in antiquity that the stars were fixed in this space, which is why the name represents the firm place of existence.

The knowledge that the human being had on the firmament was very different depending on the historical time in which we find ourselves. His observation since the different constellations that were in the sky served for a long time as guide for sailors as well as for those who moved from one place to another and did not have exact knowledge of where they were or what distance.

Although the firmament is a concept rather abstract, today it is still used as a synonym for heaven and while the concept includes the quality if it is blue, the truth is that this color changes according to the time of day. The beauty of the sky is to observe how in open spaces in which buildings and human constructions do not reach the horizon, its extension is much greater than what one can normally observe in large cities: in the countryside, the sky reaches up to the level of the horizon as well as the stars, for which the effect that this generates is precisely that of a vault that expands on our heads.
