The denomination of official at our language is widely applied to designate that individual who works in a state position, that is, who exercises an occupation in the public function. A president of the nation, a senator, a deputy, a defense minister and a judge of the supreme court of justice are examples of public officials.
There are various ways in which public positions are accessed, including: via popular election in democratic systems, the citizen, elects through the vote those who want to be his representatives and therefore occupy such or such public positions; by designation or appointment of a authority; and by public competition, that is, there are some public positions that will be held by individuals who have previously won a special competition, among others.
The official, unlike what happens to another worker who works in the activity private, much more is usually required of him in matters such as: the dedication he gives to his activity, the
compliance of the number of hours of work stipulated and the honesty with which it acts, because we are the taxpayers who with the payment of our taxes pay their salaries. So it is precisely for this reason, for that circumstance that we are the inhabitants who provide money to pay their fee, that always the eye, the focus, is placed on the actions of public officials and scandals break out if it is found that a weight official has incurred in some serious offense during the development of his public function, for example embezzlement of public funds, collection of bribes, among the most currents.
Unfortunately, access to public office is mostly linked to “cronyism”, that is, someone who occupies a space of power usually appoints people of his or her own to key public positions extreme confidence, friends, family, among others, and who normally do not have experience nor of the professional qualities that this position requires.
And as if it were no longer outrageous that someone who is not properly trained carries out a job of this type, these workers Publics tend to charge very high salaries that are paid through the money that the state collects for payment of taxes and they enjoy tremendous Benefits.
