Definition of Reading Workshop

There are different possible leisure activities that enrich the personal agenda of a human being.

Reading is one of the most positive habits not only because it is an entertaining plan but, from a personal point of view, it adds great benefits: increased creativity, allows to keep the mind active, produces feelings positive and emotions nice, a good book brings sensation company so it is a brake against loneliness. Reading also allows you to enrich your vocabulary, improve your use of language, and improve your expression written (for to write well it is also important to read).

In this sense, it should be pointed out that despite those who may think those who link reading with an individual plan, more and more cultural activities are organized around a book: a workshop is a group course led by a teacher who is the one who guides the readings (that is, makes the book proposals, directs the sessions through comments and questions that enhance the participation by the whole group).

Workshop characteristics

In a meeting that can have a biweekly or monthly session, all the members of the same read the same title in order to be able to put the impressions on said reading in common. In this way, each reader is not only enriched by their own subjective interpretation of the reading. but also, it is enriched from the contributions made by the different members of the group.

A reading workshop is a literary activity, however, it should be pointed out that there are specific groups in certain areas in particular: for example, in poetry or novels. This cultural plan can be convened by training centers in cities and towns.
