East sport combat has been part of the modern Olympic program since the first Olympics in Athens in 1896. It is known by two names: Greco-Roman wrestling or wrestling. Like any other combat sport, this one consists of demonstrating which fighter is the strongest and most skilled.
Main rules and characteristics
Greco-Roman wrestling is a sport in which each participant tries to beat his rival without using blows and using only the upper part of his body (wrestling is a different version of Greco-Roman wrestling, since in it it is possible to use the legs as an attack weapon or as a defending).
The objective of the confrontation is to make the opponent fall to the ground, in such a way that he keeps both shoulder blades on the mat. In the case of not achieving this purpose, the winner of the fight will be the one who obtains the most points in the realization of braces and projections.
In higher category competitions there are three combat periods of two minutes each. The action of the wrestlers is carried out on a 12 x 12 meter tapestry under the supervision of a judge, who has the
responsibility to enforce the rules. Like the rest of combat sports, in this one the participants compete by age and weight categories. ROW It is the international body that governs this sport.Milo of Crotona was the great fighter of the Olympics of antiquity
