The term media refers to several simultaneous and different uses.

On math, for example, the feminine form that designates the fraction of a half is known as mean, being ½ the symbol which is used to designate it.

On the other hand, when in science statistics we speak of mean is referring to the average of a set of numbers, there are several different types of means: arithmetic average, harmonic mean, weighted mean, sample mean and population mean, among others. Meanwhile, in a context totally opposite to those we have been describing, such as that of the dress, is designated by the name of media to that garment that serves to cover the legs of human beings, preferably, from the feet to mid-calf or to mid-thigh, normally manufactured to through synthetic fabric, its main function being to protect people against the cold, although of course it is also recognized as an important function esthetic

In addition, the term average has another very popular meaning in relation to the field of communication since that way It is also called the mass media, such as television, radio, the Newspaper, Internet. The media transmit all kinds of information, whether current, commercial, linked to entertainment, among others, to a heterogeneous and, of course, very broad audience, which can include millions or even billions of people at the same time, all simultaneously observing the same event.
