A kiss is the act of pressing something, an object, another individual, with the lips, for a generally purpose affective. Mostly we are human beings and also some primates who display this particular and widespread habit of kissing.
It should be noted that a kiss is an act that can occur in many ways, in different places and with different purposes, depending on the country and its culture, the situation, the actors involved and other instances.
Types of kisses
The most common kiss is between two people, on the cheek or on the mouth, and has a connotation loving or romantic. In some cases, when people are close or have confidence each other, a kiss can simply be a friendly greeting; in this case the place of the kiss will be the cheek. If it is a kiss between two people with a love interest, the kiss is on the mouth and involves a more committed display of affection and is usually accompanied by caresses and other displays of sumo affected.
There are different types of kisses commonly known. The

The kiss and its meaning in different cultures
In some countries like Argentina and Uruguay, the kiss between people of the same sex with a friendly or greeting purpose is common; while in other parts of the world a kiss of these characteristics has a homosexual connotation. In other places, like France, it is customary to kiss each cheek as a daily greeting.
The kiss on the mouth, a true demonstration of love and courtship
When two people fall in love or have a reciprocal love interest, they show it to each other through a kiss on the mouth. The kiss that the bride and groom profess each other, is loaded with emotion and passion and usually lasts a long time, that is, it is not a fleeting kiss like the one given on the cheek to greet another individual who has arrived somewhere.
Even couples often remember the moment of the first kiss of the relationship as a very unique event in their love story. It is common for them to remember the moment, the physical place, in which it took place.
So, a kiss is such a common practice and associated with such romantic and loving values at the same time that it has been the subject of various works of art throughout history. These include the famous painting The kissby Gustav Klimt. Or, on the other hand, the sculptureLe Baiser by Auguste Rodin. The most famous photograph of a kiss was taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt on August 14, 1945 and shows a sailor kissing a nurse in the middle of a celebration for the end of World War II.
On the other hand, and to contribute with one more example to this issue, in recent years, it has become a frequent practice in the world. kiss-on-the-mouth contests, in which the contestant couples have to kiss and the longest kiss is the one that will result winner.
