A tournament is understood to be an event that involves a competence between different parties (individual or group). In a tournament, participants compete for a price from the development of different types of activities: sports, intellectual, cultural, religious, of entertainment, etc. In general, the tournament takes place in several stages and involves progressing through different stages in which competitors are eliminated.
Throughout history, humans have resorted to various modes of entertainment and fun and the tournament has always been one of the most popular options. Already in Ancient Greece, in Ancient Rome and in the Middle Ages Such events existed as a way to bring communities together, compete for different goals, and demonstrate the force individual or group of participants. Depending on the historical moment and context, tournament rules could vary, becoming very brutal in some cases and refined tournaments in others.

While some tournaments are resolved in a few matches (or perhaps one), others are eliminatory by having numerous participants. You can also find individual or group tournaments in which the activities to be developed will vary in
complexity, duration, effort and interest.Normally, among the most popular and famous tournaments we find sports tournaments since these disciplines tend to have worldwide diffusion, as well as because the participants usually represent the country from which they come from. Among the most popular sports tournaments we must mention the Soccer World Cups, the Olympic Games, the various tennis cups and tournaments, the basketball championships or volleyball, tournaments Swimming and many others. At the same time, chess tournaments, entertainment, physical strength tests, music and culture.
