The sale and the commercialization of the products requires a good quality in them, a good service and a competitive price. However, these elements are not enough, since it is necessary that prior to the sale of a product there is an organization, that is, a logistics.
Logistics management focuses on obtaining the maximum efficiency in the supply chain of a product and, if this has an export projection, we talk about international logistics.
Transport and customs procedures
The logistics chain has a fundamental pillar: the transport of goods. The product that is exported must fit with an adequate transport system for it. At the same time, it is necessary analyze the appropriate form of loading (with a loading torus adapted to the different containers).
Customs procedures are equally decisive when carrying out an international logistics operation. The professional who deals with this activity is the customs agent, who has to know the administrative regulations and the laws that affect the export.
International Trade
International logistics is an area of the International Trade. The logistic process in export is related to the so-called INCOTERMS, clauses of international trade that are reflected in the purchase-sale contracts of a product to delimit the responsibility in cases where a transport or customs documentation problem arises. INCOTERMS affect the exporter and importer of a product in a series of aspects: delivery of goods, means of transport, payment of transactions or possible risks and damage to the commodity.
Clear rules for effective business results
Export-oriented companies have international logistics policies based on several aspects: the needs of the client, the product that is manufactured and the type of market to which it is directed.
Normally the companies that produce a product are not specialists in issues related to logistics and transport, for what they decide to subcontract to other companies specialized in this sector, also known as logistics operators (these companies focus on the management of transport and customs activity, as well as the supply of goods from a perspective global).
In this sense, there is a fundamental aspect in international logistics: the correct management of delivery time, since in any activity commercial there is a commitment on delivery times (normally a breach of the deadlines is accompanied by some type of penalty).
