The word led is a english acronym which abbreviates the following denomination in English: Light-Emitting Diode, and in Spanish it refers: diodetransmitter of light.
In the present the led presents a super extended use as indicator in various devices and also in the field of lighting of spaces and in this, without a doubt, the key benefits that it proposes have had a lot to do with it, such as: save of Energy, its long duration, its design compact and fast ignition.
Making a bit of history, the first led was developed when the year was running 1927 and it would be the Russian scientist Oleg Vladimirovich Losev, who would achieve it, although, until the sixties it would not be used again and only from this decade would it begin to spread and spread phenomenally.
Firstly the production was limited to the colors red, yellow and green, it proposed a very low intensity of light and materialized in appliances and remote controls to indicate the on and off function. Meanwhile, towards the end of the last century, the ultraviolet LED, blue and white would arrive.
During the current month of October the led was celebrating the fifty years of the creation of the first diode that emits light. Scientist Nick Holonyak was responsible for achieving that feat on October 9, 1962, when he worked for the company General Electric. Since 1957 the scientists who worked in the company They were oriented to get good news in this regard, but none of them managed to overcome the emission of radiation, although Holonyak did make it possible by creating a device that produced light visible.
So, five decades after its creation, LEDs are a technology that is absolutely installed and integrated into our daily life. Thus, it is possible to observe them on elevator buttons, on electronic devices, on tablets, computers, signaling signs, televisions, lighting, among others.
