The acronym OAS corresponds to and is used to abbreviate the Organization of American States, whose main function is to act as a kind of forum political and public in the American continent.

The headquarters of the OAS is located in the city of Washington DC in the United States, but In addition, each of the member countries has a regional office that of course is in close contact with relationship and
communication with the parent headquarters.The body is made up of 35 member states, all from the region, the only one that was suspended for more than forty years as is public knowledge, it was Cuba, who was suspended in 1962 because it was considered that its political events, a one-party government that suppressed all kinds of democracy and participation With thoughts opposed to the ruling party, he was absolutely contrary and certainly faced the spirit of freedom that the organization has promoted from the beginning. Meanwhile, this situation ceased to be in force since last June, when the member countries and before the opening signals that were emitted from the island, decided to revoke the suspension measure.
In accordance with the provisions of the OAS charter, the General Assembly, the consultation meeting in which the foreign ministers of member countries, councils, the inter-American legal committee, the inter-American commission on human rights, the general secretariat, conferences, and the organisms specialized, they are the main advisory and political bodies that the organization has to carry out its objective.
