What is the OECD and what does it do?
OECD is the acronym with which the abbreviated and simple way is called the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, one of the organisms most important and recognized international organizations that understand and intervene in economic and social issues that affect their member states and others that cooperate with them. It is also often referred to as OECD as a result of the name in the English language (Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development).
It was founded in 1961, its headquarters are located in France, and it is made up of 34 member countries, especially from Europe, but there are also representatives from the East, Africa, Oceania and the continent American.
The work in the OECD is carried out through committees and groups made up of representatives of the member states and specialists in various topics.
Basically its reason for being is to think and put into practice policies that ensure the economic and social well-being of people all over the planet.
To effectively and satisfactorily achieve the proposed objective is that they are in charge of analyze and evaluate the various realities in which they intervene, always promoting the participation open and giving priority to critical international situations.

It is also an active generator of documents and books that are consulted worldwide by thousands of people because they propose policies to be followed to increase according to both economic and Social.
We must also mention that it is not an organization static Regarding the acceptance of new members but on the contrary, it is open to the entry of new profiles and also works with the observation from non-member countries in some of their committees or meetings.
The authority is the Secretary General, at the moment it is occupied by the Mexican economist Ángel Gurría.
