At the behest of the Linguistics, a onomatopoeia is the imitation that is made of real sounds through the language and likewise, the term designates the word that results from the aforementioned imitation of the sounds and that will end up being used to name them. Thus, screaming is an onomatopoeia and "Ahhh" It is the onomatopoeia that will imitate the sound of an individual's screams.
Onomatopoeia exist in all languages, although of course, in most cases they will be different since the sounds can be articulated in a phonetics. For example, Japanese is a very rich language in terms of production of onomatopoeias and even more, they have been super integrated into everyday language to add greater value to actions or to describe to figures and to sounds.
Other job frequent occurrence of onomatopoeia occurs at the behest of animals, to describe the sounds that they produce and that are highly characteristic: woof (dog), meow (cat), quiquiriquà (rooster), quack (duck), peep, peep (bird), mouuu ( cow), bsss (fly / mosquito), meee (sheep), oint, oint (pig), cri, cri (cricket), among the best known.
In the comic books It is also extremely common to find onomatopoeia as sound effects; the cartoon Batman is one of the richest in this regard and one of the most prolific in creating onomatopoeia: ouch, pow, capow, pum, bam, crash, to describe the sounds of the blows that Batman and some malefactor.
Brrr (cold), click (sound made by the mouse when pressing any of its buttons), knock, knock (door knock sound), ring (doorbell sound) there are as many onomatopoeias that we use repeatedly in common language.
