Opacity is the quality, the opaque characteristic of some objects and materials.
When a body or object is opaque, that is, it has opacity as a salient feature, it is because light does not pass through it, since they largely block it.
There are specific issues that influence the determination of the opacity of an object or material, on the one hand, the frequency of the light and on the other hand the temperature that presents the object in question.
The opacity is plausible to be studied via the radiation infrared, gamma rays, ultraviolet rays and the famous X-rays. This is so because in reality the opacity of something cannot be measured in terms of the light it lets in. a simple look and therefore it is necessary to use various methods and elements to measure it in a adjusted.
The opposite situation is that of a body or translucent object, in which case itself is characterized by easily let light through, while transparent objects are able to let light through totally.
So in the opacity there is an almost total blocking of the passage of light, in the case of translucent elements there is a fairly important passage of light but not absolute and in transparent ones the light passes one hundred percent hundred.
On the other hand, the concept of opacity is used extensively in the industry of paper, since through it one of the qualities of this material so used in our culture is called to write, to print…
At the behest of the paper there will be a part of the light that is reflected on it, another part passes through it and the other will be absorbed by it. The light that passes through the paper will be called in this context transparency and to which it does not opacity.
Fillers and pigments increase the opacity of the paper.
As long as we have on paper a picture its opacity will need to be increased to prevent light from passing through it.
