The logo that identifies the initiative of code free or open source. Also the logo of the different applications that use it.
The term Open Source refers to a type of code or program written in such a way that it can be modified by any Username you want it so. A program made in this way can be modified according to the particular wishes of the person who is going to use it. Open Source originally came out with the name of free software, however the developers of the initiative: software that can be share with everyone, they decided that the word "free" (from English, free software) did not exactly suit what they wanted express. The word free, generally implied terms like, easy, sloppy etc.
Going back a bit, it was Richard Stallman, a programmer from the United States, who first developed the idea of free software, since he had the belief that software can never be owned, and must be shared by everyone. Of course Open Source as a code that it is, requires knowledge of the language of
programming in general as well as basic knowledge of computing As minimum. Let us understand that Open Source is not a special programming code, it is a app normal or app that comes with your code writing In view of all. Normally the programs are made with other programs called compilers, these compilers allow the commands and commands to be written in code. After hard work, the program is finished and only its final result is allowed to be seen. However, if a user also provides the source code (that is, everything he has written in the compiler): this program could be called Open Source. The most famous open source programs are the different versions of Linux, such as Debian and Ubuntu, but there is more. In the same way as for antivirus there is the Clam Win as well as VideoLan (video player). Finally we will talk about GIMP, the powerful free or Open Source program that allows you to edit images at the professional. All these programs can be downloaded for free and if you wish you can also download the source code to be able to modify them to your liking. Modifications of a program can also be suggested to the open source community and if accepted, a new version of the program is published with the suggested modifications.
