Subjective Description Example

A subjective description refers to the form of description that is given subjectively by an issuer in which it is most important to us the representation of the facts that is observed in a realistic way. What is sought is to propose an interpretation of what is observed through metaphorical language or other literary figures.

In this type of description it is observed in the author the attitude of relating an event using some kinds of words that allow represent it according to how the author himself interprets it and in which most of the time there is a considerable use of adjectives.

On some occasions some literary figures appear that are known as hyperbole, metaphors, comparison; these being the most used. They are literary elements that allow the author to give a beauty or aesthetic use to what is related.

In this type of description, the role of the author is more important than what is being observed or the object of study. A representation of things with "exactness" is not sought, but rather how they are interpreted by the author. They are subjective visions loaded with what some experiences leave the author himself.

What is interesting in this type of description is that there is the possibility that the receiver of the message himself also gets to modify what he is reading from his own interpretation of him.

This type of case occurs a lot, especially in literary texts and in all their genres. And this is so because in the descriptions there is a fictional narrative that supports novels, short stories and even poetry.

Subjective descriptions in science:

It is uncommon for subjective descriptions to appear in scientific texts. What is most prevalent and complies with the methodological and information disclosure rigor is particularly the objective description.

There are some possibilities of using some subjective descriptions for certain purposes, especially in the social sciences. In some moments this resource is necessary to have a hypothetical scenario of certain social events that must be supported with the investigation and refutation of hypotheses.

The difference in this case of the use of subjective descriptions compared to literary devices is that an expression is not sought aesthetics or the beauty of something in itself, but rather it seeks to be honest in what is observed and for this we start from how the subject sees things.

5. My mother is continually in a state of stress as she is very perfectionist and suffers from obsessive compulsive disorder.
6. Her forehead is very wide, her eyes piercing, she seems like a woman full of mystery.
7. Adela seems to me a very beautiful woman.
8. My brother does not like to read or write, he only thinks about playing soccer.
9. The looks he shared with me made me a happy man.
10. It is evident that the attitude of many politicians discourages the people. And so they want the vote.
11. It is the most wonderful car I have ever seen.
12. It seems to be a very beautiful house, we will have to see how it is inside.
