The word Biochemical is used to refer to everything what is proper or related to Biochemistry and the phenomena that it studies and investigates.
On the other hand, individual who specializes in BiochemistryCompleting the studies concerning it, he is known as a biochemist.
Meanwhile, biochemistry refers to the science that deals with the chemical study of the structure and functions of living things. In some way it is said that biochemistry studies the basis of life because molecules make up the cells and tissues of living beings and that is precisely what it investigates; the protein, the lipids, the carbohydrates and lipids are some of the components that the aforementioned discipline studies, in addition to some other molecules that are also present in cells. The basis of biochemistry is that all living things are made of carbon and almost all molecules are predominantly made of carbon.
The approximate origin of Biochemistry has been established in the year 1893
on the occasion of discovery of the first enzyme, diastase, which are those protein substances that catalyze chemical reactions, by the mathematician, chemist and physicist Anselme PayenHowever, notions about matter have existed since prehistoric times, intervening in issues such as the elaboration of bread using yeast. But of course, the passage of time favored the development of a theory and a practice and the different discoveries that were made in chemistry would also contribute to other fields such as medicine, the genetics and the biology.
As we mentioned, the professionals who deal with the study of it are biochemists; its activity takes place in different stages such as the investigation, laboratory work and industrial biochemistry.
The most important discovery due to Biochemistry is undoubtedly the decoding the human genome which is constituted by the sequence of DNA contained in 23 pairs of chromosomes. Of these 23, 22 are autosomal and only one will be the one that will determine the sex of the person. Women have two x chromosomes and men one x and the other y.
