The politician of Russian origin Vladimir Lenin was the creator of this faction that originated within the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party and that stood out for promoting very radical ideals against the other side that emerged from the breakup of the party, the Mensheviks, who on the contrary represented a more conservative and moderate position. We must mention that the wing led by Lenin had a majority and the Menshevik side had achieved a minority impact in the party congress where they differentiated.
Basically the Bolshevik proposal was to promote the dictatorship of the proletariat and the collectivism, this is that the means of production are transferred either to the state or to the corresponding social group, so that they manage them with absolute authority.
To achieve this, it was necessary, according to Lenin, that the peasantry and the working class make an alliance to put an end to the
autocracy in Russia, exercised since institution of tsarism.Nor did they rule out the use of violence if it paved the way to power and the end of the yoke that Tsarism and bourgeoisie exercised over the working class.
At the beginning of the 20th century, in 1903, when a party congress was held, Lenin proposed the division, feeling that the party in general did not faithfully embody his ideology and the basic guidelines just exposed.
So, once power is achieved, it will be essential to keep it under the rule of a workers' dictatorship. Only in this way will the final objective of the communism which is a community without classes.
It should be noted that in 1917 and after the call Revolution October Lenin's proposal became a reality and was imposed as a system of government in the Soviet Union. A coup ended the Russian provisional government.
The concept of Bolshevik, likewise, is widely used as synonym of communist, that is, it is used in a general way to designate that person who has a left-wing ideology, which basically follows communism regardless of whether or not it shares a radical position like the Bolshevik one.
