The concept of inequity refers in our language the absence of equity, which is the same as saying the existence of inequality in some aspect or level, social, of gender, among the most common.
It is then opposed to the concept of equity what does the equality that reigns in a context. When there is equity there will be Justice. Therefore, inequity is considered a factor of the injustice.
Unfortunately throughout the world, in some nations to a greater extent and in others to a lesser extent, there is inequity. Furthermore, we could say that inequity is an issue that accompanies civilization since ancient times. Although there were also always people and movements whose main mission was to fight against this disastrous and counterproductive scenario For the correct development of people at all levels, it is worth mentioning that it has not been possible to definitively banish despite the efforts.
Now, as we mentioned above, it is at the social level where we most frequently find situations of inequity.
The social classes or social sectors that have older resources They can easily access the products and services produced in the community to which they belong and can also satisfy their basic needs. Meanwhile, there are also sectors of that society that do not have sufficient resources and, as a consequence, remain in a completely backward position with respect to the previous ones.
This unequal access to resources generates inequity not only in the fact that the lower classes of a society will not be able to acquire the same goods as those belonging to higher social sectors but also this situation will make them receive a unequal treatment, because traditionally it has happened that the lower social sectors are discriminated against and stigmatized for occupying that social place.
Thus, it will be very common that when they want to access those spaces that classically belonged to more affluent sectors, they receive unequal and even discriminatory treatment.
In terms of gender, there is also a legendary inequality against women, that although with the to run Over the centuries it has been diminishing, we cannot say that today it is exceeded by one hundred percent.
In work environments, more precisely in the performance of hierarchical positions, for example, is where the primordial role of men is still maintained to the detriment of women.
