One of the main reasons for visiting centers esthetic and cosmetology is the search of treatments to remove hair, which is achieved with the implementation of two different techniques, waxing and epilation.
Although the term depilation is used when referring to hair removal, there are two ways to do it, which differ in the fact that epilation removes the part of the hair that is outside the skin, while epilation removes hair from the roots.
Hair is constantly growing, so any of these techniques must be carried out in a periodically, however with epilation it is possible to achieve that the hairs are increasingly fine, which provides a better appearance aesthetic.
Epilation techniques
Epilation is based on removing hair from the roots, which can be achieved with various types of techniques.
Remove hair with instruments.
A very common way to remove hair is by pulling it out with objects such as tweezers and more recently with techniques based on the use of threads. Although this is effective, it is very painful and is not practical for large areas, so its use is limited to the eyebrow area, the hair on the upper lip, as well as when it is necessary to remove hair in places punctual.
Epilatory machines.
Some devices with heads that are attached to the hair by pulling it out with rotary movements are available on the market. These devices are expensive and have the disadvantage that they favor the growth of ingrown hairs that can give rise to disorders like folliculitis.
Wax.
Wax is one of the oldest and most effective ways to remove hairs by the roots, since the fact that the wax is applied hot makes the pores dilate making it easier for the hair to come out completely and not split. This procedure can be somewhat painful when beginningHowever, with its use, the hair thunders thinner and thinner and it is even possible that it stops grow up in some places. An additional benefit of wax is that, unlike other methods, it makes the skin soft.
Photoepilation.
The most recent techniques are based on the use of laser rays as well as pulsed light (IPL) that allows to eliminate definitively the hair with few sessions and minimal discomfort that includes heat and temporary redness of the skin. Is technique It has the disadvantage that it cannot remove blonde or gray hair.
Electrolysis.
It is a procedure that consists of inserting a very thin needle into the duct where the hair grows in order to emit an electric shock that damages the follicle permanently so that the hair does not return to grow up.
