The word immature is used to account for that or that which has not yet matured. The term can be applied to things, such as a fruit: the banana is not yet ripe for you to eat; or, failing that, it can be used in reference to an individual to refer that he or she does not present maturity, that is is not yet fit to take charge of certain situations or to perform certain roles. For example, a 16-year-old individual is still immature to be a father, he has not even finished training physical nor emotionally himself, with which he will not be fully capable of carrying out the guiding function of a father.
It should be noted that the word immature applied to individuals is also used on those who, despite having a biological age to develop this or that role in society, mentally, are not in a position to face the situation in question, that is, he will act accordingly if he is younger than he is. A man who despite being 40 years old is characterized by manifesting as a
TeenHe only thinks of going out to have fun with his friends, dancing and not working, he is truly immature. Then, on the other hand, we find the maturity which will involve the presence of the sanity, good judgment and prudence in an individual beyond the chronological age that the same holds.
Although immaturity is a situation that can be noticed sometimes more and sometimes less, throughout the life of any human being, there are some levels of the same that exceed what is normally acceptable and it will be there where the break between the individual and society occurs. It is perfectly understandable that an 11-year-old still needs the attention and the care of his parents when leaving the house with friends, going to the college, among others, however, the fact that he continues to demand to sleep in his parents' bed will be considered an act of tremendous immaturity.
