The word narcissistic we use it in our language to refer to everything owned or associated with narcissism, and also to name that individual who has a huge and excessive admiration itself and for that reason he is constantly talking about him, how well he does this, how excellent such a thing is, etc.
So the narcissist suffers from narcissism. Narcissism is a special behavior, rather the psychology He considers it as a mania that consists in the fact that whoever suffers it feels beautiful, divine, loves himself and therefore takes care of himself excessively.
For the narcissist there is hardly one or more other beings around him since he is considered almost exclusively in everything. Thus, everything that generates or happens with it will be considered the most important. Also, the narcissist needs to be told all the time how beautiful he is, how well he does everything, that is, demand a constant adulation.
Obviously the narcissist has a quota of selfishness
considerable compared to other individuals who do not present this mania, since for him the only thing that matters, the most important is he, satisfy his needs and worry only about what makes him feel and be well.As a consequence of this state of affairs, the narcissist tends to surround himself with individuals who do not contradict him, but on the contrary, who exalt him even more than he does. He does not support in any way that there is someone who does not value him and stand out for the conditions and qualities that he supposes to have.
Psychology, from different angles of course, has dealt with this behavior. He defined it and also determined that it is a conduct that normally generates certain problems for those who suffer from it to develop and coexist in society.
And regarding its name it was not accidental but causal since it is inspired by a recognized myth of the Greek mythology, the myth of Narcissus.
Greek legend tells that Narcissus was a beautiful young man, there was not a single maid that he did not fall surrendered to her beauty, meanwhile, after despising a nymph who declared her love, the goddess of vengeance, Nemesis, she punished him by making him fall in love with her own physique by seeing himself reflected in a source of Water.
