It is known by the name of newscast to all that television program that is in charge of transmitting to the viewers the updated news of the day and the last hours.
Television program that transmits current news. Characteristics and evolution
The newscast has characteristic elements in terms of its language, its layout, its material, etc., which clearly distinguishes it from the rest of the television programs. Although it can be seen by anyone, the newscast is usually aimed at an adult audience as its style is formal and serious.
The newscast can be considered as one of the first television forms since it existed from the first moment that television began to function. In its early formats, the television newscast followed the design del radial: a short of a few minutes in which the most important information of the day was given.
However, over time, the newscast gained greater importance and today we can find not only a great variety of newscasts but also channels entirely dedicated to this type of news. programming.
Each country has its own news signals in which news is transmitted 24 hours a day, the specific data of each region, although they may be in some cases seen in other countries also thanks to cable television that offers its customers a varied range of channels, including information signals from other countries of the same continent or another.
In this way it is possible to instantly inform yourself about what is happening in another country far from ours without doing we have to wait for the international section of the local news to know what happens on the other side of the balloon.
The newscasts are usually similar to each other from the language to the way the studio is set up where the program is filmed. Normally, the newscasts use a serious and formal language, in addition to being the conductors, generally a man-woman couple, always dressed in a formal and sober way. Studios usually have a desk and some additional space in which specific topics can be discussed. Depending on the type of newscast, different types of visual and auditory technology can also be added to complement the work of the drivers. When the newscasts are on a channel that also has other programming, they usually last between one and two hours.
The transformations that new technologies have infused into the genre
As a consequence of the tremendous leap that new technologies have caused in many contexts, especially in the media communication, is that the newscasts, classic information spaces as we have already seen and pointed out, have also been notably influenced by Internet and of social networks in their content.
Also and because the public today chooses to inform themselves through their mobile devices, computers, cell phones, tablets, among others, is that the news have had to reformulate their presentations and their quite stiff dynamic by the way, to be able to compete with the technology.
Thus, today many newscasts dedicate a significant part of their time to presenting the views of their viewers through contact with the social networks: Twitter, Facebook, and they even use many of these to propose topics, to bring complaints to them and also to obtain instant information about someone or something that could not be achieved even by sending an outdoor mobile, because the news has already happened and you caught it first the social network.
Other transformations, with a clear objective of aggion, is the dissemination of special research on topics of interest for the community, which although they have been included for a few years, in recent times occupy more space and enjoy the intervention of a group of journalists who are in charge of reflecting them.
In this way, the newscast is no longer just two conductors reporting news but a group of communicators who interact on the various current affairs to which they add topics of interest to the society.
Also, drivers and journalists are increasingly being seen reporting while standing or moving in a scenography with more participation of technology.
