The term 'tambo' is a term in common use in some countries of America del Sur to refer to those rural establishments especially dedicated to obtaining bovine milk and processing it to later transform it into human food. The dairy farms can be of various sizes depending on the owners, being able to find family dairy farms and industrial dairy farms with a large number of livestock and facilities.
While the tambo like establishmentrural from production from raw material is closely linked to livestock activity in general, it is important to point out that only certain types of cattle are used in this space to obtain milk. While livestock for meat can be highly varied in terms of species, dairy cattle are they find almost exclusively cows of the Dutch-Argentine breed, which is characterized by having a white skin with spots black.
Drums consist of a number of basic facilities that can vary according to the size of the dairy in question. We can basically point out spaces such as open fields where cows graze and spend most of the day, the dairy itself or space where the cows are milked, the processing and packaging spaces of the product already obtained. To this can be added generally some human dwelling space in the event that the dairy farm is the subsistence activity of those who work there.
Today the dairy must follow an important legislation regarding the hygiene of its facilities, the veterinary tests and examinations that must be carried out on the cattle, the process rules and handling of the raw material, etc. All of this has to do with ensuring that the product is trustworthy and acceptable by human standards of consumption.
