Taiwan is the official name for one of the provinces or states of China, which is an island located southeast of the territory continental and separated from it by the Taiwan Strait. The surface of this island is almost 36 thousand square kilometers, while its population Today it exceeds 23 million inhabitants. The capital city of the state of Taiwan is the beautiful and amazing city of Taipei.
Taiwan is perhaps one of the most interesting and eye-catching regions in China. In its history we find the presence and domination of endless cultures, both Asian and European, especially after these (led by the Portuguese) came into contact with the local societies in the XVII century. Also Spanish and Dutch would seek to have dominion over this territory so strategic and rich in resources. Today, Taiwan is considered a country dependent on China, although it may have its own president elected by the votes of the Taiwanese people.
As with other parts of Southeast Asia, the island of Taiwan has a
weather humid and almost tropical, with seasons of high rainfall. Taiwan has a primarily mountainous geology formed from the movement or sliding of the tectonic plates that are there. As in many other islands, the flora and fauna of the region are endemic and very abundant, with birds, trees and other animals that are only found there (which is why they easily enter the category 'danger of extinction').Taiwan is an area in current development, a fact that is basically due to the importance of tourism, to the use of their natural resources available and its important export industry. This is why Taiwan is also a region with many contrasts in which we can find large and modern cities that combine comfort with luxury and rural areas still immersed in a traditional lifestyle and quite impoverished.
