The concept of technocracy is widely used in the field of politics since through it it is possible to designate that political system that promotes the presence and preponderance in the government management of technicians, and of course also the application of technical criteria in policies to develop.

According to the technocracy then, the success of the government management will be marked by this question: the presence efficient technicians at the head of the state, meanwhile, the problems that arise will have to be solved through the scientific method and not by the ideological route.

Displace ideology

In technocracies, government policies are guided by science, especially by scientific knowledge, leaving the ideology displaced in this sense. Any policy you want implement or problem to be solved, will be supported by empirical data and not by the convictions imposed by ideology.

Entrepreneurs and industrialists are the most suitable people to run the government

That of technocracy is a proposal that emerged in the 19th century. Meanwhile, the Industrial Revolution had a lot of interference in its development since it was imposed with a lot of force among philosophers and intellectuals of this time that the technicians and entrepreneurs who controlled the means of production they were the right people and who were more qualified to carry out a government, because they knew exactly how carry the economy and lead society.

The French philosopher and theorist Claude-Henri de Rouvroy, also known as Count de Saint-Simon, was the pioneer in exposing this idea in one of his literary productions.

Now, beyond this impulse that it has had opportunely, we must say that this political system was never imposed in a concrete and total way, and the participation of the technicians at the request of a government only stuck to the task of advising on some question of which they are specialists, but the management and decisions are still made by politicians and not technicians.

Nowadays it is very common for politicians of stock to be advised by technicians from various areas. This gives them wisdom in their decisions and proposals but does not distance them from the ideological proposal they hold.
