Tequila is a typical alcoholic beverage native to Mexico, more precisely from the municipality of Tequila located in the state of Jalisco, and which stands out for its high graduation of alcohol. Tequila is made from a plant that of course is native to Mexico, where it is preferentially produced and is popularly known as agave or pita.

To decide that the drink is original tequila, it must be available in its composition of at least 51% of sugars that come from the aforementioned plants and be produced in those regions of Mexico dedicated to their manufacturing.
Very pure tequilas contain 100% of these sugars.

How is its elaboration?

His elaboration involves obtaining the juice of the agave, then it is fermented and finally said preparation it is distilled. Now, we must emphasize that there are different production processes, some more industrial and others more artisanal. Depending on the procedure, the tequila that is obtained can be white, gold or other. And depending on the time of maturation that it holds may be valued as rested, aged or extra aged.

Use in preparation of cocktails

Tequila can be drunk alone or it can be drunk mixed with other alcoholic beverages. There are many different drinks denomination that contain this popular drink among its components. The margarita and tequila sunrise are examples of cocktails or drinks that contain tequila and that are very popular almost all over the world.

Meanwhile, the most common way to drink tequila in bars, pubs or discos is in a small glass, called a shot, and the usual way is put in your hand a little salt which should be eaten immediately before drinking a tequila shot and finally you should suck a slice of lemon.

We must emphasize that as a result of the large amount of alcohol it contains, it is recommended to drink it in moderation.

Also, the word Tequila designates territories belonging to Mexico, such as the municipality belonging to the state of Jalisco and the one corresponding to the state of Veracruz.
