On September 11, 2001, the Twin Towers of New York City were toppled by a terrorist attack. Two commercial planes hit the two skyscrapers, causing nearly 3,000 deaths and thousands of injuries.
According to the official version of events, the brain of the operation was the Leader of Al Qaeda Osama Bin Laden. Since then, all kinds of speculations and versions about the truth of the events have not stopped appearing.
The main interpretations
It is claimed that the attack was actually a US self-attack with the aim of justifying a subsequent attack on Afghanistan and Iraq.
According to the official version, Bin Laden made the decision to destroy the Twin Towers because he blamed the United States for the aggression against Iraq, the situation in Palestine and the 1982 Lebanon War. In this way, the terrorist acts of 9/11 were an act of revenge against the politics outside the US in the Middle East.
Some analysts maintain that the attack on the Twin Towers is directly related to the internal conflicts between the different doctrines of the Islamic world.
One of the debates that have taken place is related to the death of Bin Laden in 2011. On this matter there are all kinds of conjectures: that he is not really dead, that the official version is nothing more than a montage, that Bin Laden had already died previously, etc.
With regard to the collapse of the Twin Towers after the impacts of the two planes, there are all kinds of doubts, since they were built to resist the impact of an attack and according to the experts the fire was not the true cause of its destruction. For all these reasons, it has been said that the Twin Towers were collapsed by controlled demolitions.
From another point of view, it is affirmed that the different conspiracy theories are nothing more than marketing strategies promoted by the media of communication.
The impact of 9/11 on the United States and on the planet as a whole
The consequences of the attacks have been revealed in different areas. There is a suspicion towards the Arab world. There was a deep upheaval throughout the United States. The measurements of safety, especially in airports, have been extreme since then.
In 2004 in Madrid and in 2005 in London there were terrorist attacks of similar characteristics.
For some historians, 9/11 represents a deep rift between East and West and a event that has marked the course of humanity in recent years. For some the terrorism Islamic has become a phenomenon scale global. In this sense, the fall of the Twin Towers on 9/11 is remembered as the day the world changed.
