The participle It is a type of verb, which refers to an action that happened in the past but that, due to its proximity to the present, still has influences on it. For example: They have accomplished Big steps. / The work is done. that is, a non-personal form of the verb.
It is one of the "verboids" (also called non-personal forms of the verb because they do not conjugate), along with the gerund and the infinitive.
The participles can have three functions:
There are two ways to classify the participle.
According to its completion:
(!) There are verbs that have two participles. For example: print (printed, printed), attend (attentive, attended), wake up (awake, awake)
