Infinitive verbs
The infinitive verbs are those that are presented in a sentence in the form not conjugated, that is, without referring to a certain tense or verb mode. They describe the action basic without conjugation. For example: jumpedarhaveer, sleepto go.
The infinitive is, then, the grammatical form that gives its name to verb, and all the infinitives in Spanish are located, according to their ending, in one of these three groups:
The verbal conjugation models established by convention correspond to the infinitives love, fear and leave. These three adhere to a fixed conjugation scheme that is always the same, they are called regular verbs. Also exist irregular verbs, which deviate from those fixed schemes. For example: squeeze, miss, be born, acquire.
Infinitive functions
The functions of the infinitive verbs in the sentence are very varied, since they are the same as the functions of a noun: can act as subject, as a complement to the verb or as a modifier of a noun, a adjective or a
adverb. For example: To travel it's part of the holidays. In this example the infinitive "travel" functions as the nucleus of the subject of the sentence. What direct complement from verbs seen quite often. For example: My son needs eat five times a day.
Some verbs in the infinitive have been nominalized, that is, they have acquired the value of independent nouns; such is the case of infinitives dawn or can. For example: East dawn it is wonderful. / The fight for the can it is always ruthless.
