Base is a conjugated form of the verb "to base" (I baso on solid arguments to substantiate my opinion). Spleen, for its part, refers to a viscus of vertebrates (They should have removed the spleen due to trauma). Cup, finally, designate a type of container (The boy broke the Cup With the ball).
The words "baso", "spleen" and "glass" are homophones, that is, they sound phonetically the same but their meaning is different and they are written differently. In orality, when hearing any of these forms, we may not be certain of what their writing is, so sometimes confusion can be generated.
