In Spanish, words that end in -year form adjectives or nouns which generally derive from Latin. They also form nouns from verbs or other nouns. For example: hermitage / hermityear, sword / swordyear, traverse / throughyear.
On the other hand, verbs ending in -year correspond to the first person singular of the present tense, in the indicative mood. For example: apyear, extryear.
And the verbs ending in -aƱado correspond to the third person singular of the simple past perfect, of the indicative mood. For example: aryear, dyear.
